In September the EBC will discuss Alentejo Blue by Monica Ali. It’s her second novel (after the much praised Brick Lane) and it was published in 2006. In webpage Fantastic Fiction it is described as “a collection of stories set in the Alentejo province of Portugal, linked by characters and by a vivid sense of place and time”.
The meeting takes place on the 2nd floor in Kulttuuritila, on Wednesday the 19th at 2pm. You can pick up the book from the information desk on the same floor.
In our last meeting we were 10 people discussing Purge by Sofi Oksanen. The novel raised a lot of questions ranging from Estonian history to today’s politics. Also appearances nowadays raised good conversation. We had a lot of fun and new members are warmly welcome!
